Do you know a family that has a set of twins in it? Perhaps you are a twin or a parent of twins or a sister or brother of twins. Did you know (I’m sure you do) that my family has a set of twins. Not only do we have one but in my extended family we have several sets of twins. But today we will talk about MY twins.
The girls (Teagan and Amelia) were born July 29th, 2011. Teagan was born at 11:10pm and Amelia at 11:11pm. The pregnancy went actually rather well considering being pregnant with twins. Up until about 33 weeks when I went into pre-term labor. I was rushed up to Mercy Medical Center. I was there for one week. The doctors felt that the labor had slowed/stopped enough that I could rest at home on strict bed rest. Another two weeks went by when my water finally broke and I had the girls.
Since then our lives have changed drastically. First of all taking care of twins is hard in itself but them being pre-term babies is even more difficult. The girls were fantastic babies, don’t get me wrong, but they were sleepy babies. So we had to wake them all the time to eat because all they wanted to do was sleep. My husband and I would have to keep ourselves on a schedule to wake them up through out the night and make sure they got the feedings they needed for the first week after that first week they did start waking up when they were hungry and life got much easier.
The girls, as we like to call them, are now two and a half years old and healthy as all get out. You wouldn’t even know that they were born early. Teagan has always been a little bit taller and heavier than Amelia, but not by much. They both are on the same level when it comes to progress. They seem to enjoy the same things that the other enjoys as well. Their linguistic skills are getting better like a normal toddler. But I have noticed that they have their own language when talking with each other or with other twins.
They happen to go to daycare where there is another set of twin girls that are a bit older than them. According to my husband when ever they interact all four of them talk in the same language, that they all clearly understand.
The girls fight much the same as any other siblings do. They fight over who gets to be on mommy and daddy’s lap and over their baby dolls.
We still get people asking us how we tell the girls apart and to be honest it is quite simple for us. I have noticed that since becoming parents of twins that I can tell other twins apart from one another easier now, although not as easy as that particular set of twin’s parents.
I find myself thrilled when I meet another parent of twins, although that parent might not be thrilled about meeting other parents, LOL. I also think about when they get older will one be more tomboyish and will one be more girly? Will they remain close? I hope they do.

Its been a whole year
Yep that's right, the title says it all doesn't it? I literally have been away for an entire year from my blog. WOW!!!! I can't believe I stayed away that long. Well since January 2013 my family really hasn't been doing much different. We have been working hard and struggling hard as well. My oldest son is now 5, our twin girls are now 2.5, and my youngest son is 1. Everyone is growing very well and its been amazing to see my children progress.
Alright now that the kids have been updated on to myself and my husband. My amazing husband has been having issues. I don't recall, although I'm pretty sure I have, if I ever explained everything going on with him and the daily issues we have been obliged to sort out.
My husband is 40 (sorry babe about announcing this to the world) and has some severe issues with his neck/back. He has what is known as Degenerative Disc Disease*. On top of this disease he also has some bulging disks in his neck as well. Due to all of these issues he has immense pain which he is unable to control with your normal OTC medications. As of late he has been on Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen also known as Norco. He has also been on Gabapentin. Plus he uses OTC sleep aids at night. So at the moment we are in the midst of getting him some type of treatment so that he is not in need of these medications. He just recently went in for Radiofrequency neurotomy *. It has been a week since he had this procedure done and although he is a bit sore he says that the actual pain that is caused from the disease and bulging disks are no longer really there anymore, which is great!
As for myself, well I turned 30, so that's one milestone. I have decided to "try" and write a book. I say try because as of late I haven't really written anything. Although I'm not sure if its just from lack of imagination, lack of ambition or just plain laziness. I have gotten may be a half of chapter written out and now am not sure if I want to scrap it and start fresh or not.
I have been sick for a total of about three weeks out of the last two months. Not sure what the deal is but I see my doctor this coming Wednesday, which is tomorrow. So I am hoping to get to the bottom of what ever the issue may be that is causing my immune system to be almost none existent.
This blog has literally not done a darn thing that I wanted it to do, ha ha. Or, rather I haven't done what I wanted with this blog. After all it is not the blogs fault that I don't get on here and write anything, it is my own. Although I am hoping to change that in the near future. Only time will tell.
Ta Ta For Now. Have a blessed day.

Update...to be back or not to be back
Well its been awhile since I have been on here. So since the last time i was on here i had our twins Teagan and Amelia. They came into this world on July 29th at 11:10 and 11:11pm Teagan was 6lbs 15oz and Amelia was 5lbs 5oz but you would never know that they were actually 5 weeks early. They didn't need any NICU time which was fabulous. They are now almost 18 months old and have a littler brother that came into the world this past December. We had our last addition to our family December 26th. Our fourth child and second son Ezra came into this world at 8:07am at a whopping 11lbs 9oz 22inches long and he did end up needing some NICU time and for that he was flown down to UC Davis and he was there for five days. It was a horrific experience and one i do not plan on doing again. I will have to go into details soon about everything but my main reason for restarting my blog is one because a friend started her own which reminded me why i started mine to begin with. It was a way for me to release any feelings i had about any number of things and a way for people to see that yes christians do struggle but we still try to do right by the lord. As of right now I am not sure how often i will be on here but i did want to put up an update since ya never know who ends up running across these =) I hope to start feeling th eneed to write though but we shall see.
